About On Scene Video
On Scene Video (OSV) provides quality motion video and still image photography of late breaking news events in Southern Alberta with a specific focus on the City of Calgary.
The philosophy of OSV is to be available for fast breaking news stories when the networks are unable to cover it. Mainly this means monitoring the radios late at night when the news crews have gone home. On Scene Video's crew is contsistantly "roaming" the streets of Calgary on Fridays and Saturdays from 11pm to 4am. Even when OSV is not "on the streets", we are always listening for news worthy events where our sevices may be needed. On Scene Video can even be hired to shoot spot news if you are too busy or do not have the resources available to cover a particular story.
On Scene Video uses state-of-the-art equipment to guide us from the initial call to the on time delivery of our footage to your doorstep. Our aresonal includes multiple scanners that monitor Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Police Department, Calgary EMS, RCMP, STARS, as well as a multitude of rural emergency frequencies. We have onboard Global Positioning Systems (GPS) that will map the quickest/shortest distance to any event anywhere. Our video equipment consists of 3 chip profesional grade MiniDv cameras with a barage of accesories (tripods, lights, filters etc.) to permit the highest quality footage with the smallest footprint.
